How to Live with Jesus?
How to Live with Jesus?
Crazy question, huh? But do you really know the answer?
Everyone's life is different. Everyone's journey is unique. If someone came up to me today and asked, “How do I live this life with Jesus?” I honestly wouldn't know exactly what to say.
But here's what I do know:
Read the Bible.
Read God's Word. He will speak to you through it.
What do you do when God is silent?
Do you wait?
Or do you go back to the last thing He told you to do?
What if the last thing He told you was:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
If that was His last command, what do you do?
You obey.
You hold onto it—no matter how things look or feel.
You be strong and courageous, and you refuse to be afraid or dismayed.
Let’s break it down:
-
Strong: Able to withstand great force or pressure.
Bingo! -
Courageous: Not deterred by danger or pain. Brave.
Bingo! -
Frightened: Anxious or afraid.
So to not be frightened is to rest in God’s peace. -
Dismayed: Upset, worried, or agitated due to an unwelcome situation.
So to not be dismayed means to stand firm in faith, even when life feels overwhelming.
Now, take a look at your own life and situation.
Does what God commanded you make sense right now?
For me—yes.
Now that I’ve taken the time to understand it, I realize this word is straight from God.
And don’t forget the end of that verse:
“…for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
— Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
So whatever you're facing…
Pass the test. Run the race.
Remember who God is.
Your emotions do not define your destiny.
God does.
“Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called…”
— 1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV)
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…”
— Hebrews 12:1–2 (NIV)
This is your Promised Land.
Walk in it.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
— Exodus 14:14 (NIV)
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
— Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
Hold on. Keep the faith. Jesus is with you—always.
